Return-to-Play Protocols

Click here to View or Download our Return to Play Protocol

Since June, we have all adapted and modified our on- and off-field behaviors to keep playing. Thank you for your commitment to our protocols, and we appreciate the feedback you have shared with us throughout the season. It has been instrumental in helping us provide the safest environment possible for our players, coaches, and families.

The time for us to adapt has come again. Starting today, Monday, November 30, all players are required to wear a face covering while training and playing games, unless a player has an exception.

This update to our protocols is in line with health guidelines, which require face coverings during outdoor sports if you can’t maintain 6ft of physical distancing for the duration of the activity. Many states, leagues, and soccer clubs implemented these protocols earlier in the season (e.g., wearing masks on the field of play), which have not compromised the players’ enjoyment of the game or ability to play. Ultimately, this is what we must do for the health and safety of everyone involved.

Below are highlighted updates and reminders of our safety protocols. Click here to view a full overview.

  • All players are required to wear a face covering while training and playing games, unless a documented exemption is submitted through this HIPAA compliant online form.
  • Face coverings should be worn by players walking to/from the field, in the “bench” area, inside restrooms and wherever else social distancing may not be possible.
  • Regardless of physical/social distancing, coaches are expected to wear a mask at all times while on the field during training and games.
  • All spectators, referees, and other participants are required to wear a face covering, unless an exception is stated, or you can maintain 6ft distance from others.
  • All spectators must remain seated around the field of play.
  • Players should continue to place their bags 6ft away from any other players’ belongings.
  • No unnecessary physical contact or prolonged contact should occur between players, coaches, teams, referees etc. (e.g., no handshakes, no team celebrations, halftime talks should be socially distanced and all players/coaches to be masked, etc.).
  • All indoor spaces are currently closed for any team meetings, gatherings, etc., except for medical treatment space.
  • All players and coaches are required to go through the health screening questionnaire prior to any NCFC Youth training or game.
  • If you have been exposed, think you may have been exposed, or have tested positive for COVID-19, please complete the Incident Management Form, which can also be found in PlayMetrics.

If you have any questions regarding these updates, please email Head Athletic Trainer, Jason Bailey.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation as we all do what it takes to keep playing and most importantly, keep our players, coaches, and families healthy and safe.
