Bradley Morrison to Join NCFC Academy Staff

Morrison adds depth and experience to Academy program

Raleigh, NC – John Bradford, NCFC Boys Academy Director, announced the addition of Bradley Morrison to the 2021-2022 NCFC Academy Staff. Morrison will come to NCFC Youth from Charlotte where he is the Director of Coach Education and Performance Analysis and head coach for the Charlotte Independence Pro Academy U16 & U17 teams. At NCFC Youth, Morrison will be the Pre-Academy South Director and head coach for the 12 Pre-Academy South and 13 Academy South Teams in 2021-2022.

“I’m excited to welcome Bradley to our NCFC Boys Academy Staff. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our club that will add depth to our coaching staff and support player development,” said Bradford. “His technical expertise, passion for coaching education, and success at the college coaching ranks will be a valuable asset to our program, coaches, and players.”

Morrison’s playing days culminated at Gardner-Webb University (2005-2009), where he was a standout player on the field earning accolades including All-Big South Conference, Big-South Tournament Team, and Academic All-Conference. While earning his Master’s degree in Sports Science and Pedagogy at Gardner-Webb, Morrison began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant for the men’s program. His coaching journey took him through successful stints as an assistant coach (Brevard College, Gardner-Webb) and head coach (Brevard College).

Eventually, his career and passion brought him back into the youth game where he’s had roles as the Director of Coaching (Greater Cleveland County Soccer Association), NCYSA Assistant Technical Director, ODP Staff Coach, and most recently as the Director of Coach Education & Performance Analysis and Head Coach with Charlotte Independence Pro Academy.

“I want to thank John Bradford and Paul Forster for the opportunity to join NCFC Youth,” said Morrison. “I’m excited about joining a great staff and look forward to working with the players soon!”

Morrison, a Shelby, NC native, has a USSF “A” License, US Youth Soccer National Youth License, and USSF Grassroots Instructor Course.

Morrison will join the NCFC Academy as it heads into its 15th season in Fall 2021 and its 9th under the direction of John Bradford. Since Bradford became the Academy Director in 2013, the program has produced more than 130 college commitments, 11 professional players, and 23 players who signed amateur contracts with the NCFC men’s 1st team. In that same time frame, 34 different players have been called into US Youth National Team Camps, and most recently, 15 NCFC Academy players were invited into the first US Soccer ID Center since the COVID-19 hiatus.

The NCFC Men’s 1st team is set to kick-off their 2021 USL League One season on May 8, and the roster features 15 recent NCFC Academy signees who range in age from 15-18. To learn more about the NCFC Academy, click here.
