When is my Financial Aid Application Due?

The 2018-19 Financial Aid application cycle will open on Monday, March 19. Completed applications must submitted prior to your player's tryout date. All applications received by the appropriate due date will receive first consideration and have the best opportunity to receive financial aid. Those received after a player's tryout will only be considered to the extent funds remain. We strongly encourage all players who need assistance with club fees to submit their completed application (including financial supporting documentaion) as early as possible.

When will I know if I received Financial Aid?

Financial Aid decisions will be communicated to players before they are asked to commit to a team. In most cases, applications are due before try-outs and we intend to communicate financial aid awards before the last day of try-outs (see dates above). All players will know if they received financial aid before the Recreation Early Bird Deadline, or before they are required to accept a spot on a team.

How will I be notified?

The Financial Aid Committee will primarily use email to communicate with financial aid applicants. Other communication methods can be made if necessary.

Who decides if I receive Financial Aid?

A financial aid committee comprised of independent members in the NCFC Youth community will award Financial Aid.

How much Financial Aid will I receive?

Financial aid awards are intended to fill the gap between what a family can afford to pay and Club Fees, Team Dues and Uniform Cost. It is expected that ALL players will contribute something towards these financial requirements. Only in rare circumstances will all three be covered completely through a Financial Aid award.

What criteria are Financial Aid Awards based on?

As a non-profit organization, the goal of the Financial Aid program is to assist low-income families or families with extraordinary temporary circumstances. Awards will be based on:

-Household Income
-Families with single parents
-Employment of both spouses
-Extenuating medical or family hardships

Will I receive confirmation of receipt for my financial assistance application and financial suppport?

Due to the high volume of applications received and the relatively manual process of reviewing submissions, you will not receive direct confirmation that your application has been received. If you have been informed of the results of your try-out but have not yet heard from the financial assistance committee about the results of your request, you may email [email protected]

The financial assistance committee does not delete emails and should be able to locate your application quickly in the event it was mistakenly left out of consideration.

Am I required to do anything else once I receive Financial Aid?

We ask applicants to pay your portion on-time. We may request a thank you letter to donors but we will make sure all letters remain anonymous.

Can multiple players in one family win Financial Aid?

Can I receive Financial Aid in consecutive years?

Yes, as long as the financial need is demonstrated.

Do I need to apply for Financial Aid every year?

Yes, if you still need Financial Aid you must reapply each year.
