Coaching Education
Pre-Season
I. Coaching Application
Interested in coaching a Challenge team? Qualified candidates must have passion, energy, enthusiasm, and desire to work with young players and to support the NCFC Youth mission and direction provided by the Coaching Staff.
Coaching Application
II. Risk Management (Required)
All Challenge head and assistant coaches need to be "risk managed", which means complete and pass North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA)'s Risk Management system. This must be done before practices start and you MUST notify your area administrator so they can begin the process of Risk Management and perform a background check.
Risk Management
III. Abuse Prevention Training (Required)
In response to the new federal law enacted on February 14, 2018, all team officials are required to complete the Abuse Prevention Training video and quiz prior to being added to a challenge team roster and to be validated with their team official card. Team officials are required to complete the child abuse training program and a background check before they can volunteer/coach/represent NCFC Youth.
Once you have completed the Risk Management application, please notify your Challenge Administrator. Once they are notified, they will be contact with the NCFC Abuse Prevention Liaison to have your named added to the database. Once you are added to the database you will receive an email from [email protected], with further instruction. Please keep in mind that once you complete the Risk Management application, it is not an automatic process to receive the Abuse Prevention Training. In high volume times of the year, it may take several days to receive the email.
IV. Coaches Meeting
Challenge Coaches should plan on attending the Coaches Meeting on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Challenge Director Brett Malone will address important changes, updates and information for the upcoming season.
