TOPSoccer Story

Coaches and Buddies

Melissa Ellisen is our TOPSoccer Director and is also an Assistant Principal with Wake County Public Schools. Previously she taught 3rd grade, 5th grade, and special education. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and special education and a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership Studies. Melissa has been a part of the NCFC family for 8 years and is excited to share her knowledge and love of the game when working with the TOPSoccer athletes.

Each session we will have a group of trained coaches and buddies to lead the athletes during practices. Buddies are assigned to athletes who require one-on-one attention in order to succeed. Buddies could be NCFC Youth players, siblings or volunteers who will be trained prior to the sessions.

Skill Level

No experience necessary. Our goals for TOPSoccer Athletes are

  • Sense of belonging by being a part of a team
  • Improved self-esteem, fitness, social and soccer skills
  • Success based on individual ability
  • Fun!
