With long-term strategic direction from the NCFC Board of Directors and the mission of NCFC, the following fundraising objectives and anecdotal achievements are provided.

Financial Aid

  •  NCFC Youth awards more than $350,000 each year in financial aid to players and families who document a clear financial need. Financial aid supports players across all ages and levels of play and helps fill the gap between what a family can afford to pay and the cost to play.

Community Outreach

  • More than 60 youth with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities will have the opportunity to play soccer through NCFC’s TOPSoccer program
  • NCFC Youth is the soccer partner for the Durham Police Athletic League. Each fall season 300 3rd - 5th graders in 20 elementary schools in Durham County will have access to free soccer after school and on the weekends. The program is supported by the Durham Police Department and serves children from underserved communities.
  • NCFC Youth's La Liga is a reduced fee program designed for more than 400 youth from underserved communities across the Triangle.

  • The After-School Program launched in Spring 2020 and provides free after-school soccer programming to youth from partner elementary schools in the Southeast Raleigh area.

Coaching education, retention of quality staff, and recruitment of new coaches

  • Free coaching education courses have been offered to Recreational and Challenge level coaches since Spring 2015.
  • The inaugural Volunteer Coaching license course was held in 2015. Now, each year, more than 300 volunteer coaches attend the free course to be "NCFC certified" and to enhance their knowledge about coaching. The courses have grown in popularity and provide a great learning experience for volunteer coaches.

  • Coaching education courses and mentor opportunities are hosted throughout the year to support our coaches.

Improvements to WRAL Soccer Park & Other facilities

  • Significant investments in upgrades to WRAL Soccer Park -  a 21 field complex that NCFC Youth owns and operates - include removal of trees (to be replaced by more trees that cast shade), turf planning to offer better playing surfaces, over-seeding of fields, the addition of two new turf fields, lighting more fields, and removal of debris from the surrounding woods.

  • NCFC maintains many outlying facilities and fields, ensuring the safety and field quality for our players.

  • NCFC Youth partners with other entities (municipalities, private facility owners) to support field development in the area and have access to more facilities for soccer programming

  • NCFC Youth is helping to construct the new Wake Stone Athletic Park in Knightdale - Phase 1 features 5 new fields
