Elite Technique

In-season Elite Technique (ET) is a weekly supplemental training program for players ages 10 to 18. This individual player development program is geared towards the intermediate level or higher player and patterned upon decades of direct youth academy and professional coaching experience in the U.S. The curriculum is developed by NCFC professional staff and focuses on breaking down individual techniques and mastering them to become a “complete” player.

Training addresses all aspects of the game: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. Sessions are led by NCFC coaches, Elite Technique professional coaching staff, and North Carolina FC/North Carolina Courage professional players.

Our goal is to significantly improve the technical and athletic ability of each player through the application of best practices developed from the training of our highest teams in the club. Richard Huxford, NCFC Youth Athletic Performance Director/Boys and Girls Development Academy Performance Coach and our professional Elite Technique coaching staff oversee every aspect of the curriculum and on-field execution.

Players will have the freedom to make mistakes enabling them to push past existing skill levels in a competitive training environment while increasing their love for the game and desire to train.

Seasons

Elite Technique runs over the course of 5, 6-week blocks throughout the year. Each block will end with a 2-3 week break before progressing to the next. Players can register for the for individual blocks or for two consecutive blocks at a discounted price.

Technical Testing

To ensure the most effective program for your athlete, players are required to participate in technical testing prior to enrollment into training. Testing dates are offered throughout the year to assess whether a player is qualified to participate in Elite Technique. These tests will incorporate a series of timed technical drills to gauge the skill level of players in determining placement in training groups with others of similar levels of development and ability. Tryout scores will also assist the coaching staff to develop group-based curriculums to ensure "complete player development".
