Team Formation
All players interested playing in our Classic program must attend our annual try-outs in May. Players unable to participate in May try-outs (due to relocation to Raleigh, injury, etc.) may request a supplemental try-out by contacting the appropriate age group director
. We strongly encourage all players to attend our annual try-outs in May if at all possible, as that will give players the best opportunity to be seen and evaluated by our coaches.
Annual Tryouts

Held in late May following Spring NCYSA State Cup, Classic Tryouts are held each year to aid in the formation of all Classic teams. Players are evaluated on the field by the Classic Coaching Staff and Age Group Directors over the course of several
days. Using the results of these tryouts – in conjunction with coach evaluations and depth charts from previous season – our coaching staff forms tiered teams across all age groups and regions. Classic tryouts are open to any and all players that
wish to be a part of the Classic Program, however placement within the Classic Program is not guaranteed. Players must register online prior to tryouts. Registration opens in early Spring.
+ Winter Supplemental Tryouts*
- Winter Supplemental Tryouts*
In between the Fall and Spring NCYSA Seasons – typically late November/early December – we will hold supplemental tryouts for select regions and age groups. These tryouts are used to bolster the rosters of current Classic teams. Any player
who has been carded to an outside NCYSA organization during the Fall season and wishes to attend the Winter Supplemental Tryouts MUST be released from their current NCYSA registered club before stepping on the field to be evaluated for NCFC Youth.
Players must register online prior to tryouts. Registration opens in late October.
+ In-Season Individual Assessment*
- In-Season Individual Assessment*
For families that have moved into the Wake County area after our annual tryouts, or for players that were unable to attend tryouts, we also offer players the ability to have an in-season individual assessment. Players will be given 2-3 training
opportunities with current NCFC Classic teams after which point they will be provided an assessment from an Age Group Director and potentially offered placement within the Classic Program. Any player who has been carded to an outside NCYSA
organization during the current season and wishes to be given an in-season individual assessment MUST be released from their current NCYSA registered club before stepping on the field to be evaluated.
To register for an In-season Individual Assessment, please create a player account at
www.NCFCYouth.com and register for an assessment. An Age Group Director will then be in touch with you within a few
days.
*Supplemental Tryouts and Individual Assessments are used exclusively to add to existing Classic rosters, provided space is available. All team formation occurs at the Annual Club Tryouts and there is no guarantee of space being available in an age group after the initial tryout process is completed.U11 ID Nights
We will be holding ID Nights in all four regions for players interested in joining our U11 Classic program for the Spring 2021 season. ID Nights will be held the weeks on November 8th and 15th. During these nights, our Classic staff will put players through a typical U11 training session for evaluation.
