Bucy Family Foundation

NCFC Youth, North Carolina Football Club, and The Bucy Foundation are committed to helping local youth learn and grow through the game of soccer. That’s why we, and our partners, are building five new mini-pitches over the next two years across the Triangle.

Mini-pitches (or mini-fields) are small, hard court surfaces used for community citizens for pick-up soccer or community programming, and they are designed for urban areas or other high density venues with limited square footage.

Our commitment is to make these mini-pitches:

  • Accessible to all youth from across the Triangle
  • Conveniently located in high-traffic areas that attract a diverse population or strategically placed in local neighborhoods that lack access to free-play space
  • Open for free play to youth and adults with limited restrictions
  • Safe in well-lit, fenced off areas
  • Maintained so youth and the community feel a sense of pride in their mini-pitch

Do you want to be part of this community enhancement project? NCFC Youth, North Carolina Football Club, and The Bucy Foundation are seeking partners to support this project.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Corporate support: Support financially with a donation to help build a field. Sponsors can receive branding recognition through our website, press, on-field recognition, etc.
  • Individual support: Support financially with a donation to help build a field.
  • Donate Land: Are you a landowner or lease-holder of a location that could benefit from a field enhancement? Contact us or suggest a location below.
  • Offer Services: Are you a surface vendor or a vendor of lighting, fencing, goals, or other? Connect with us to see how we might be able to work together.
Please contact Katharine Eberhardt, NCFC Youth Business Development Director, if you want to be part of this collaborative community initiative.

Suggest a Mini-Pitch location

Do you have a suggestion for where a mini-pitch could be built in your community? Let us know by completing this form.

Mini-Pitches are hard court surfaces and often are:
  • Current concrete/asphalt surface (underutilized courts, parking lots, or open play space)
  • 5,000-7,200 square feet (typically 100-120’ long x 50-60’ wide)
  • Open, flat surface - free of major obstructions
  • Built on a surface that is in a state of good repair (e.g., few pre-existing cracks, blemishes, etc.)
  • Accessible year-round to the public
  • Built to accommodate branding/logo placement for field development partners
  • In a place with no other planned installation on proposed site in the near future
