Coach of the Season

Each season, parents and players nominate a Recreation or Challenge coach who has gone above and beyond the duty of "coach".

Fall 2023 Volunteer Coaches of the Season

Congratulations to our Fall 2023 Coaches of the Season! We are proud to have you on our team and applaud your continued commitment to the development of our players! The following coaches were nominated by their team for going above and beyond the duty "coach" and selected to receive a gift certificate to Dick's Sporting Goods.

Here's what some of our parents had to say about their Coach of the Season

Following are excerpts from some of the nominations received for coaches for both the Challenge and Recreation programs.

Recreation

1st Grade • Chad Trevithick

"Coach Chad does a great job of working with the girls and motivating them to learn and grow! He is constantly giving them positive feedback while making sure they improve their skills and love for the game. Each game he makes sure to recognize each girl for their own specific contribution to the team. My daughters skills have improved so much and she loves being a part of the team."

5th Grade • Brittney Sylvester

"Coach B is the best! She creates an environment for the players to learn, work together, and have fun! She welcomed my daughter to the team and encouraged her in positive ways to work hard & push herself each week. Coach B challenges all the players to take their skills to the next level. She does this with poise, confidence, and kindness. Our daughter comes home with a warm heart and huge smile. We are beyond grateful for what Coach B has taught her this fall about soccer and more importantly, about being a supportive teammate and respectful competitor."

High School • Greg Luberecki

"Greg Luberecki is a leader and role model to the boys on his team. He understands the needs of each player and helps them develop skills to be effective soccer players and young men based on their individual needs. He fosters a positive environment through wins and losses and practices and games. His interactions with officials during games set the standard for all coaches and is a great example for the boys on his team and the teams we play. He cares for the boys on his team not just as soccer players but also as young men. He demonstrated this to us personally by writing a letter of recommendation for my son’s college application this year. Greg is the coach we always wanted for our son."

Challenge

U9 • Trey Michael

"This was the first year my daughter played challenge soccer. Coach Trey did an excellent job both motivating the girls and teaching them. These are 8 year old girls that are still new to soccer, yet the whole team improved every game and that is solely due to Coach Trey's teaching. Coach Trey helped everyone learn their position and believe in their teammates for help and support when needed. My daughter told me a few days ago she wanted to go shoot around at a soccer field to get better. That statement told me that not only has Coach Trey showed the girls how to play as a team, but also he has motivated them to get better on their own for their team."

U10 • Morgan Hembry

"Coach Morgan brought so much heart to this season! It was awesome to have the boys being led by such a strong female coach. She was so attentive to each player, taking notice and catering to each of their styles and strengths. She also brought empathy to the game. Win or lose, she followed up with the whole team to reinforce what she was proud of from that game. She went the extra mile to organize an end of season pizza party with special activities, celebrate birthdays, and make it fun all around. She also hosted a short awards ceremony after the last game. She awarded each player an award based on a pro soccer player and talked about how they embodied the pro's playing style. She encouraged families to watch footage of the pro with their player to have them take in what she admired about them. She brought focus to each practice and they improved individually and as a unit, on and off the field."

U12 • Jeff Miller

"Coach Jeff has been a dedicated volunteer, a wonderful communicator and all-around great coach. He is supportive of each player, inclusive of all families, and knows a ton about soccer. Practices are challenging, but my son always comes home with a smile on his face. He enjoys his teammates and he enjoys the skills he learns, and that is because Coach Jeff makes it accessible and fun for all. We are so lucky to have been on his team for the past three years. We really lucked into a wonderful community with a wonderful leader."

Thank you, coaches!
