Inaugural NCFC Youth Beyond the Pitch Event Raises more than $200,000 for Financial Aid

The Club's 50th Anniversary Celebrations Continued with a Signature Event to Ensure Access to Play for All Youth

On October 23, 300 NCFC Youth supporters came together at the Angus Barn Pavilion for the club’s inaugural Beyond the Pitch fundraiser, presented by TowneBank. While the event was held on one night, many NCFC Youth supporters contributed to and engaged in the fundraising efforts for a week leading up to the event through early access to bid on silent auction items and/or purchase some great deals and discounts – all to support our collective efforts to grow the game.

"This event embodies the spirit of our club's mission— to provide positive, high-quality soccer opportunities at all levels of play for all youth and their families and to serve as a valuable community partner,” said Gary Buete, CEO of NCFC Youth. “The generosity we saw at the event will not only open doors for young athletes to experience the game of soccer and all the lasting benefits that come with participation, but also it will strengthen the fabric of our community. Together, we’re shaping the future by investing in these kids, and I couldn't be prouder of what we continue to achieve together.”

Around 300 attendees enjoyed an evening of delicious food prepared by the Angus Barn, a silent and live auction, a direct give and keynote remarks from Jeremy Boone, internationally recognized performance coach, best-selling author, published researcher, and creator of Winning Leader™. Before sitting down for the dinner and program portion of the evening, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour that stretched beyond the Angus Barn Pavilion onto the terrace and lakeside seating.

Beyond the Pitch, so named to reflect the game’s lasting impact beyond the soccer field, also showcased a few of the countless stories of inspiration by players, coaches, staff, volunteers, and families over the past 50 years. Dean Linke, the voice of North Carolina FC and NC Courage, was the event emcee and took us through the night, while always bringing us back to why we were there – to open the game and benefits of participation to all kids.

Financial aid plays a vital role in enabling every child, no matter their financial situation, to participate in NCFC Youth programs. By reducing the financial strain on families, it creates equal chances for children to enjoy soccer's benefits including fun, teamwork, discipline, and community participation. This year, the program expects to allocate more than $500,000 to assist young athletes and their families. Financial aid empowers children to become team members, forge lasting friendships, and acquire life skills that go beyond the sport.

"TowneBank is honored to support NCFC Youth and be part of an evening that celebrates both the club’s legacy and its future,” said Brian Reid, Triangle President of TowneBank. “Events like Beyond the Pitch truly demonstrate the power of community and the importance of ensuring every child can experience the benefits of soccer. We’re proud to stand with NCFC Youth in their mission to provide access and foster growth both on and off the field."
