LA LIGA DEL SOL

Economic: Thanks to donations and sponsorship support, La Liga has a reduced registration fee, making it more affordable for families.

Cultural: La Liga’s one game a week structure allows for family and friends to spend valuable time together supporting their children in a sport they love.

Transportation: La Liga is scheduled on the weekend making it easier to for families to coordinate transportation.

Communication: La Liga is run by Spanish-speaking directors, coaches are Spanish speaking and often leaders in their communities, and NCFC Youth has currently hired a bilingual administrator to help with any communication barriers as well as a website that can translate to Spanish.

Technological: All registration is completed on paper forms.

Through La Liga Del Sol, we aim to provide a safe, positive and fun soccer environment for youth and their families.

• Provide a safe, positive and developmentally appropriate soccer environment for youth to thrive both on and off the field
• Give low-income Hispanic youth better access to youth club soccer
• Promote healthy living through organized physical activity and give youth the opportunity to learn valuable life skills by participating in a team sport
• Provide player development opportunities for youth who want to advance to other North Carolina FC Youth programs
• Provide youth players and their families with educational resources and support to learn about their player’s future (e.g., college, player development opportunities, ID camps, etc.)

• Team registration is preferred
• Individuals may inquire, but there is no guarantee of team placement
• Teams must be ages 9-16, must fall within specific birth year team formation requirements, and provide proof of age for players
• Teams must already have a coach in place & all coaches are risk managed through NCYSA
• While the program is focused on reaching the Latino community, other community teams interested in participating may also inquire about participation
• Participants in La Liga Del Sol may not participate or be registered with any other league or club other than NCFC Youth

*Copa Del Sol Summer 2021- Players from outside the club can participate once they have filled out 2020-2021 NCYSA Guest roster form.

• Youth players/families pay and register for La Liga through NCFC Youth
• All La Liga participants are registered through NCYSA
• Teams participate in U9/U10; U11/U12; or U13/U14 age brackets during the season
• Teams play 8 game weekends each fall and spring season (coinciding with the Recreation & Challenge regular seasons)
• Games are played on Friday night or Sunday afternoon/evening at WARL Soccer Park
• No training time or referee fees are included in a player’s registration fee
• All games are officiated by NCSRA (NC Soccer Referee Association) referees (*teams pay referees the full associated fees on game day)
• Players/families are required to purchase and wear approved NCFC Youth jerseys
• Option to participate in End of Season Tournament
