NCFC Youth is committed to be the leading youth soccer club in the country, developing players and coaches across every level of play. We do this by striving to achieve our mission and demonstrating our core values in all that we do. We support these efforts by building a future of innovation, investment, and influence in mind. Through our words, action and culture, NCFC Youth will model the way for youth soccer clubs to become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive for everyone in the sport. As part of our DEI journey, we completed a cultural assessment of our organization with the help of a consulting group and have created a DEI action plan to support our employees, coaches, players, parents, and referees in 2023 and beyond.

The safety, welfare and well-being of our youth players are the primary concern and responsibility of North Carolina FC Youth. All members, employees, volunteers, and contractors acting as a representative of or on behalf of NCFCY, in the course of doing business with NCFCY, or attending a NCFCY event will adhere to the following:

  • All children will be equally treated with respect regardless of sex, race, religion, and culture.
  • Children will not be touched in ways that make them feel uncomfortable, and their right to say no will be respected.
  • At no time during a NCFCY game, practice or other NCFCY event will any employee, volunteer, or contractor be alone with a single child where they cannot be observed by others.
  • Children will not be left unsupervised
  • Los niños no serán dejados en ningún campo antes de que estén bajo la supervisión de un adulto.
  • Coaches/team personnel will not leave any child unsupervised until the child is picked up.
  • No se tolerará ningún tipo de abuso y podrá ser motivo de despido inmediato. Ningún jugador será sometido jamás a:
  • Physical abuse - including but not limited to: striking, spanking, shaking, slapping.
  • Abuso verbal, que incluye, entre otros: humillación, comentarios degradantes y amenazas.
  • Sexual abuse - including but not limited to: inappropriate sexual touching or exposure or conduct which created a sexually hostile environment.
  • Abuso mental, que incluye, entre otros: humillación, crueldad o negligencia, como negar comida, agua, cuidados básicos, etc.
  • Se fomenta el uso de técnicas positivas de orientación, como la redirección, el refuerzo positivo y el estímulo, en lugar de la comparación y la crítica. El personal, los entrenadores voluntarios y los directivos del equipo tendrán expectativas adaptadas a la edad y establecerán pautas y entornos que minimicen la necesidad de disciplina.
  • Physical restraint will be used only when necessary to protect the child or other children from harm. When physical restraint is administered, the situation must be immediately documented in writing to the NCFCY CEO.
  • The use, possession, or being under the incluence of alcohol or illegal drugs immediately before and during NCFCY events involving NCFCY players is prohibited. Employees, volunteers, and contractors may be subject to drug screening.
  • Se abstendrán de mostrar afecto de forma íntima.
  • Está prohibido fumar o consumir tabaco.
  • The use of profanity in the presence of NCFCY players is prohibited.
  • Inappropriate jokes and sharing intimate details of one's personal life are prohibited.
  • Se desaconseja el uso de redes sociales entre adultos y jugadores individuales de NCFCY. Las comunicaciones electrónicas y telefónicas con los jugadores de NCFCY deben limitarse a temas específicos de fútbol.
