Spring 2023 Shield Award Night

On Saturday, May 6th, 2023 we had an exciting night at our seasonal Shield Award Night! More than 850 players have been recognized this season for their display of NCFC Youth’s core values: Have fun, commit to excellence, cultivate community, encourage innovation, and demonstrate passion. More than 530 of those recipients attended and got on-field recognition during halftime at the North Carolina Courage match! Recipients got to attend Fan Fest before the match to receive their Shield Award memento and take part in inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, vendors, interactive games and more. At half-time, our Shield Award recipients were recognized in front of a stadium of friends, family, and fans! The NC Courage also had fifth largest regular season crown in club history this night with the help of our Shield Award recipients, their family and friends in attendance.

Congratulations to our Shield Award Recipients!

Thank you to our Shield Award sponsor, Blue Cross NC, for helping us recognize players for their sportsmanship, positive attitude, respect and more. See the full list of recipients here.

North Carolina FC Youth to Join the National Premier Leagues North Carolina FC Youth is excited to announce that we will be joining the National Premier Leagues (NPL) beginning Fall 2024. NCFC Youth will have one team competing in the league from each of the U13 – U19 age groups for both the boys and girls divisions. Acceptance into the league will provide players on participating teams the opportunity to compete against fellow NPL clubs. The National Premier Leagues (NPL) provides a unified national developmental platform to various member leagues throughout the country. The NPL’s mission is to facilitate more meaningful games, reduce travel and provide a pathway to postseason competition. “We are excited to officially join the National Premier Leagues for the upcoming 2024-2025 season,” said Classic Director, Bobby Johnston. “Their core values and mission align with the experiences we want to provide our membership. This will be a wonderful addition to our player pathway and provide another opportunity for competitive games.” Information regarding tryouts, coaching staff, and which teams are participating in the NPL will be announced within the following weeks.
